What I don´t get: Audi Q4 seems to have preheating at least when you a charger from the Navi according to some colleague. Software is different but the technical limitations should be the same. Or is Audi using different Hardware. And from what I read and understood the new MY2024 Enyaqs have pretty the same heating system. So to me this can only be Software limitations in the end. I mean it can´t be that hard to get the configuration (that seems to be not dangerous for old platform) from Audi for preheating if it works there with same hardware. Working for a big group too and there is always a way to get important source code shared from other units if it is needed for the customer.
It's important to mention here that Audi is using the extended Android Automotive OS to manage both the infotainment and hardware components in the car. This is far away from the current ME 3.X systems found in VW and Skoda.
There are some changes in the battery structure of the Enyaq ME2024, which is why the system can more easily preheat the battery. The battery structure is also slightly different, making the process more straightforward. It's not fair to directly compare Skoda/VW with Audi and Porsche. Audi and Porsche have more autonomy and are actively shaping the future with the latest technologies. Skoda is still considered an affordable car and not necessarily the favorite kid in the neighborhood of VW concern.
Thank you for these insights. Just to clarify when you talk about „older enyaq“, you mean pre-MJ24 cars, correct?
Yes, correct.
Überraschung heute morgen…
This can give others an idea of what their ME 3.X will be like once Skoda contacts them. It should still be in Q1 or the beginning of Q2, pending approval from the wonderful folks in Wolfsburg.
I am aware of that. But it is not showing the version in the app. I am also not the only one here. At least another user that that has 3.6 has the same issue.
Improvements? Can‘t tell. Just realised its on 3.7 around 15min ago :).
Don't expect too much; it's a small update to bring your car to the latest version. Skoda aims to have everyone on ME 3.7 to facilitate the delivery of more updates in the future—primarily smaller updates, with no major changes expected at this time.
And I have to remain quiet for now. More things will be shared... Soon™.
