OTA 3.0.7 Vorbereitungsupdate

Just a few more bits about the possible ME 3.2.5 update as I was talking to the source today.

Skoda is confident about the possibility of updating cars over the air. They have finished important tests to ensure the update can be downloaded to the car. It looks like the main issue they had with OTA updates was the size of the updates. Internal storage wasn't able to handle temporary files and was crashing due to capacity issues. This should be fixed now as they did a few improvements during the 3.0.7 updates and they were able to size down the ME 3.2.5 update.

ME 3.0 can be upgraded to ME 3.2 just in the worst scenarios (problematic systems or control units). Skoda itself is not recommending that service partners do the update offline as there may be issues with the future OTA updates on updated cars.

Some small pre-updates may occur within the next few weeks. Not everyone will be affected by them.

Still no ETA for the ME 3.2.5. Sorry. Still, no clear answer to what will be included in the update. Sorry again.

My point of contact at the AMAG dealership told me today, that he got some internal news from his colleagues, that there is something to expect in early 2024. A "big update" would be around the corner, but no details if over-the-air or over-the-workshop. Told him, that I only would believe, when he is calling me in for it, then we laughed. But anyway, it would give your information some additional confirmation and keeps the rumors alive.

(Beim heutigen Werkstatttermin sagte mir mein Ansprechpartner bei der AMAG, dass er von den Kollegen intern orientiert wurde, dass ein grosses Update vor der Tür stehen würde. Details wusste er nicht, auch nicht ob OTA oder OTW, aber es wäre wohl Anfang 2024. Ich glaub's erst, wenn ich es sehe oder er mich anruft. Diese Zeilen für Euch, damit die Gerüchteküche am Brodeln bleibt.)

This may be the thing. My Czech source is not willing to share the dates as some internal testing of the systems is still ongoing. Q1 2024 would make sense as there is a „change freeze“ for Skoda from December 15th due to the Christmas holiday in Czechia. I wouldn't expect the update before the end of January or the beginning of February, to be honest.
