Nebenbei: Im Vergleich zu dem was sonst so auf dem Markt ist, ist die SW bei weitem keine "Dreckssoftware". Aber gut.

Jetzt lässt Mal die Kirche im Dorf, schauen wir Mal ob was kommt u wann.

Die Cariad bekommt jetzt schon alle Projekte nicht in Zeit, Budget und Funktion hin (Obwohl da wesentlich mehr externe Partner inzwischen beauftragt werden als das irgendwann überhaupt mal angedacht war).

Jetzt sollen da 1/3 Mitarbeiter wegfallen, die MEB Plattform muss mit 4.X gepflegt werden, die SST Plattform ist schon wieder verschoben wegen SW Problemen, MEB+ soll 2025 kommen und damit sollte die SW in der Entwicklung sein, und so ganz langsam soll das was mal Trinity werden sollte ja auch zum Leben erweckt werden.

... und dann noch nebenbei für X unterschiedliche Ausprägungen im alten 3.X Strang Funktionserweiterungen einbauen? Sehe ich beim Besten willen nicht, was soll das bringen? Die die jetzt in jedem Beitrag schreiben wie schlecht die Welt doch ist werden sich trotzdem ein anderes Auto kaufen, dem Großteil wird das einfach sehr egal sein wenn die wirklich nervigen Bugs nicht mehr nerven (Und die aktuelle Basis- und Infotainment-SW ist nun trotz all dem Gejammere hier nicht wirklich schlecht) und die paar Leute die deswegen nicht wechseln sind den Aufwand vermutlich nicht wert.

I think not. In recent years, the company has defined the roles of the brands and brand IT to prevent, among other things, that everyone does the same and SW is built 5 times.

This is one of the reasons why each brand can develop the UI itself, but uses the same basic software as backend.

Even if Skoda would manage to get special rights, how useful would it be to let the developers work on the old software instead of the current and future software?

Vielleicht kann dazu Speicher ein paar Zeilen schreiben?

Glaube nach seiner Mimik in den letzten Videos ist, da nicht mehr viel zu erwarten.

Da muss ich leider passen... da sehe ich nie nach.

Ich möchte keine Spekulationen anheizen, aber da das Kind eh schon in den Brunnen gefallen ist, gebe ich meinen Senf dazu:

Ja, es ist intern eskaliert hinsichtlich dem Update und im oberen Management von VW angekommen (das nichts vorwärts geht und nichts kommuniziert werden kann).

Dort wurden nun "Weichen gestellt" und es geht nun wieder durch die Hierarchie runter zum operativen Doing (was immer das heisst).

Es ist Bewegung drin, das ist mein letzter Stand (von vor einer Woche, seither Funkstille).

Meine Vermutungen, die nun reine Spekulation sind und meinen irren Hirnwindungen entspringen:

- Skoda könntet mehr Freiheiten erhalten haben und könnte nun eventuell unabhängiger agieren

- Sie könnten unter Umständen 3.1, 3.2, 3.4 überspringen und alle ENYAQ sofort auf 3.5 updaten (oder 3.6) eventuell via Händler und nicht OTA

- Sie könnten eventuell selbst entscheiden, ob sie preheating (manuell und/oder automatisch) bringen und wann

- Sie könnten vielleicht künftig tiefergehend selbst entwickeln dürfen (statt SW von CARIAD gäbe es lediglich Vorgaben/Richtlinien hinsichtlich Architektur, Security, Technologie usw....also nur eine Governance)

- Wir werden das allerdings sehr wahrscheinlich nicht in der SW 3 und nicht in der SW 4 grossartig sehen, da sie dort nicht mehr viel investieren dürften (rein betriebswirtschaftliche Entscheidung und beeinflusst von knappen Ressourcen und deren Priorisierung)

- Erste Früchte dessen kommen frühestens in 2025 wenn ich raten soll

Aktuell sehe ich auch keinen nennenswerten Anstieg der offenen Positionen bei Skoda im Bereich Software Entwicklung...das spricht nicht dafür das sie hier aufbauen. also haben sie entweder schon die Leute, lagern es aus oder es sind nur Gerüchte.

Sollte ich mehr erfahren, erfahrt ihr es auch

I don't want to fuel speculation, but since the rumors are already out there anyway, I'll add my two cents:

Yes, it has escalated internally regarding the update policy and politics and has reached the upper management of VW (that nothing is going forward and nothing can be communicated).

The "course has now been set" there and it is now back down through the hierarchy to operational doing (whatever that means).

There is movement in the update, that is my last stand (from a week ago. afterwards Skoda went quiet).

My guesses, which are pure speculation:

- Skoda might has been given more freedom and can now act more independently

- They might skip 3.1, 3.2, 3.4 for all ENYAQ and update all to 3.5 immediately (or 3.6) maybe through dealership and not OTA

- They might be allowed to decide themself if they want to bring preheating (manually and/or automatically) and when

- They might be allowed to develop more by themselves (instead of SW from CARIAD there might be only guidelines regarding architecture, security, technology etc....so only governance)

- But we will not see this in SW 3 and not in SW 4 I presume, because they do not invest much there anymore. (pure economic decision as well as resource priorities )

- First result of this will come in 2025 at the earliest in my humble opinion

Currently I don't see a significant increase in open positions at Skoda in software development either...that doesn't suggest they are going this way here. so either they already have the people, are outsourcing it or it's just rumors.
